There is NO Mercy Rule in the State of NJ
Regardless of the score of any NJSIAA game, varsity or sub varsity, do not authorize the timer to let the clock run when it should be stopped. NJSIAA has not adopted the so-called "mercy rule" for the state of NJ.

We had a situation recently where two of our guys authorized the Timer to keep the clock running.  PLEASE be very careful.

What can you do??? Just show up and officiate. No need to call. Just get there.

Many games are played simultaneously on the different courts. We need veteran officials, new officials, young officials, master officials, cadets, and provisional's. AND as an added bonus, if we get enough officials, we do three person mechanics. So, which one are you?????

Any questions contact Ed Whelan at 908 658 4024

  Miscellaneous

"If your partner is late get out on the court 15 minutes before the game and take care of the administrative details. When your partner finally arrives, that's where he/she will go first anyway. We had a situation where the first official waited for a tardy partner; they went out together and split up the administrative duties. The result was that a player with number 18 was in the book but not noticed until she committed a foul. The other coach wanted a T for the illegal number, but since the ball had already become alive after she entered the game it was too late for the T. If you have games at St. Elizabeth be sure to check the numbers before the game."
